Fall Clean Up
By: Sophie Emerson
Hello Rams! The weather is getting chilly, fall drinks are back, and soon leaves will start falling. Before we know it, campus will be covered with crunchy leaves, but so will the rest of the community, including people’s yards who can’t clean them up themselves. To help them out, we have Fall Clean Up! Fall Clean Up is an event hosted by our office, Off-Campus Life, to help people who can’t take care of their yards to get ready for the winter and keep their yard tidy. We offer services such as raking leaves, cleaning out first floor gutters, cleaning first floor windows, and more. Fall Clean Up started in 2005 and we originally had 50 volunteers helping 24 neighbors, and our program has grown to over 2,000 volunteers helping over 300 neighbors!
This incredible event is taking place on Saturday, November 4th from 10 am to 2 pm.. Our volunteers foster a sense of community with both other volunteers and the people whose yards they help clean up. If you are looking to get involved in your community, you can register to volunteer with a group of at least six online on our website. Register by October 13th to come out with us! Our neighbors greatly appreciate the work we do every year, and it is extremely gratifying to help them out. Fall Clean Up creates a strong, long-lasting bond between CSU students and staff, and the community.
If you are a part of the community and have trouble doing yardwork, please reach out to us by phone at (970) 491-2248 to be added to our mailing list, get information about the event, or to register. We look forward to seeing you November 4th!
