Lindsay Mason, Assistant Director
Lindsay is a first-generation student and a proud alumna of Colorado State University. She came the university as a graduate student in 2011 and joined the Off-Campus Life in 2013. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology from California State University San Marcos, master’s degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education from CSU, and is currently working on her dissertation for her Ph.D. in Higher Education and Student Affairs Leadership from the University of Northern Colorado. She finds her work in supporting students as they transition into the local Fort Collins community meaningful and feels fortunate that she has the opportunity to help students learn and grow. Lindsay loves soccer, cooking, reading, stand-up comedy, 1990’s sitcoms, and spending time outside with her two pups, Neville and Luna, and partner, Jason.
Jeannie Ortega, Special Projects
Jeannie feels as though she has grown up on campus, as she has been here since 1982! Having worked part time in various positions on campus, Jeannie eventually began working in OCSS/RAL in 1995 (before the flood!) and served as the director since from 2000-2019. She returned to us after her retirement to continue offering her expertise in a special projects role. She has a background in Psychology and Human Development & Family Studies from CSU. Jeannie truly enjoys working with students, seeing them reach their goals and realizing their full potential. It keeps her young at heart.
Nancy Rhodes, Administrative Assistant
Nancy became an honorary Ram when she joined Off-Campus Life in July, 2009. As OCL’s Administrative Assistant, she enjoys trying to help everyone else stay organized. Along with the ongoing operations, she supports big events like the Ram Welcome, Fall Cleanup, and the Housing Fair. Her move to Colorado (after a year-long RV trip around the country with her family) fulfilled her life-long dream of leaving Florida and living somewhere where she could wear sweaters and shovel snow. While she misses visiting her alma mater for burritos and football games (Go Gators!), she loves being involved in CSU and the ever-changing college atmosphere. Nancy has a Political Science undergrad, a master’s in Musicology, and a Paralegal Certificate – so if you’re looking for the ultimate Trivial Pursuit partner let her know.
Jenn “JR” Rieskamp, Community Liaison Specialist
Jenn attended the University of Central Missouri where she focused her undergraduate studies on organizational communication. Shortly after completing undergrad, Jenn returned to her alma mater to obtain a master’s degree in College Student Personnel Administration (Student Affairs) and also completed a Graduate Certificate in Women’s and Gender Studies. Jenn is the first in her family to graduate from college and still strongly identifies as a first-generation, low-income student. Jenn is the Community Liaison Specialist for Off-Campus Life at Colorado State University and Neighborhood Services at the City of Fort Collins. When Jenn’s not at work you can find her being active on local trails, paddle boarding at Horsetooth Reservoir, and hanging out with her partner Jess and their fur-children (a sweet elderly dog named Maggie, a rowdy Aussie named Charlie and a mean cat named Frida).
Carla Rey Diaz, Program Assistant
Carla is a senior Biomedical Sciences and Microbiology major at CSU. She hopes to one day go on to vet school and work with exotic animals. Carla grew up in Denver, Colorado and learned to enjoy the outdoors. She now lives with her dog Foster (an OCL intern) and enjoys going to the dog park and hiking with him as well as painting, crocheting, and DIY-ing.
Leif Blessing, Graphic Designer
Leif is senior Graphic Design student at CSU with a minor in Business Administration. He is also a member of the CSU Men’s Club Volleyball team. Leif grew up in Boulder, CO and has always enjoyed being active, playing sports like basketball and baseball, or just being outside hiking or camping.
Topzaio Aranda, Commuter Student Program Assistant
Topaz Aranda is a fourth year student. She grew up in Las Cruces, New Mexico and has lived in 3 states. She transferred from a small university in TN. She is now a Sociology Major with a Minor in Legal Studies here at CSU. She wants to further her knowledge on Social Justice issues and the legal aspects that ties into them. Her hobbies include eating, walking her dog Maggie, hanging out, and being a homebody. After undergrad, she wants to travel somewhere culturally rich and find something to do in the sociology field.
Ross Love, Graphic Designer
Ross recently graduated with his degree in Graphic Design from CSU. Originally from Windsor, CO, he hopes to get more in touch with the Fort Collins community. His passion in life has always been his art and he strives to constantly improve himself primarily through design, painting, and drawing. He hopes to become more connected to the artistic community as well as create a better environment through art. Aside from visual art, he is passionate about music, literature, social justice, and community building.
Carissa Elston, Program Assistant
Carissa is a fourth year student at CSU studying Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Spanish. She was born and raised in Colorado and while she loves the mountains, she isn’t a big a fan of the cold, so she hopes to someday move to the heat of Arizona. There she hopes to become a Marriage and Family Therapist and work with foster and adoptive kids. Outside of school, she enjoys hiking, volleyball, being with friends, and playing the ukulele.
Sara Williams, Student Software Developer and Program Assistant
Sara is a junior at CSU, pursuing a second bachelor’s degree in Applied Computing Technology. She is originally from Nashua, NH, and landed in Fort Collins after serving six years in the Navy. She is hoping to work in web development or UI/UX Design. Outside of work, she enjoys drawing, playing video games, and spending time with her two cats, Luna and Akela.
Dorina Vida, Marketing Manager
Dorina is a sophomore at CSU. Journalism and Media Communications and Political Science double major. Working toward a minor with President’s Leadership Program. She is a news reporter for the Rocky Mountain Collegian also. She was born in Marietta GA, but grew up in Colorado Springs, CO. She is a Coloradan at heart. She loves the mountains and can’t imagine living away from them.
Forrest Barton, Videography
Forrest is a senior at CSU pursing a dual major of Journalism and Marketing. He is also on the CSU Track and Field and Cross Country teams. He grew up in Castle Rock, Colorado and outside of work and school he enjoys camping, rock climbing, skiing, a hiking. He really likes to make adventure and travel videos with the videography skills that he has acquired over the years.
