Pre-Signing Checklist

Before you sign your lease, it is important that you understand and have read the following:

1. I understand that my signature on this contract is final. I cannot change my mind without penalty.

2. I have read and understand the guarantor policy, and I have a guarantor who has agreed to sign with me before signing this lease.

3. I have read and understand the installment pay plan, which may require me to pay my installment several days or weeks ahead of my move-in.

4. I have read and understand the first installment pro-rate policy.

5. I have read and understand the utility addendum, and I understand which utilities I will be required to pay over the course of the contract.

6. I have read and understand the maintenance addendum, and I understand how and when to submit maintenance requests as well as what items I will be required to pay for replacement.

7. I have read and understand the times associated with move-in/move-out, such as when I will be able to pick up my keys on move-in day and when I must have vacated the unit on move-out day.

8. I have read and understand the process for breaking my lease, whether that be a breakage fee, reletting, or subletting.

9. I understand that any concern or question I have within this contract or during my lease period, I am within my rights to contact CSU Student Legal Service and/or CSU Off-Campus Life.

This form is not an addendum or amendment to the lease. It is intended to better comprehension of the signer’s financial and legal obligation to this lease agreement. Questions or concerns may be addressed to the Property Manager’s main office or CSU Student Legal Services.
